Care and Cleaning Of Your Cultured Marble Products Special Services Ask Delta Marble about onsite repairs and refinishing products.
General Maintenance Cleaning and occasional waxing will preserve the luster of your cultured marble. Use only nonabrasive cleaners. As a general rule, if it feels even slightly gritty when you rub it between your fingers, then do not use it on your cultured marble products. After cleaning, apply a thin coat of non-yellowing wax and polish the marble. Most hardware stores carry non-abrasive cleaners as well as marble polish.
Tough Stains Hard water stains and scale with a mild vinegar and water solution followed by rinsing thoroughly usually works well. 'This is also what you should do when trying to remove rust stains. Grease stains and glue residues can be removed with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to thoroughly rinse with clean water afterward. Mold and mildew stains can be: removed with a mild solution of bleach and water. Make sure that you do not get straight bleach on your marble. Again, thoroughly rinse with clean water afterward. Cigarette Stains some can be removed by using light sanding(600 grit wet sandpaper) and mild buffing compound put on with a soft bristled toothbrush or towel. Rub very gently. After removing the stain, thoroughly rinse and polish the area with a non-abrasive wax.
Scratches and Chips Minor surface scratches can be buffed out by using marble/fiberglass wax. Deeper scratches, requires light sanding with wet 400-600 grit sandpaper. Sand lightly keeping surface wet. Finish by rinsing and polishing area with wax. Small chips and cracks may be repairable by applying new gel coat to the damaged area.
Note: Delta Marble does not recommend sanding or patching a chip in your cultured marble unless you are knowledgeable in this area, and we assume no liability for damage when someone chooses to attempt removal of scratches, setting of patches, or any other repairs.

Long Term Performance Cultured marble shares the expansion and contraction properties of natural marble (i.e. it "acts" just like natural stone). Attention to temperature changes is most important during winter months when the hot water is usually its hottest, end the cold water is usually its coldest. Abrupt changes in the temperatures of the water running into the bowl of your cultured marble may cause it to check or scar. The cycling of hot and cold is known as thermal cycling. Avoid running hot water exclusively in your cultured marble sinks. We recommend a maximum temperature of 140° Fahrenheit. The raw materials and professional attention that is used in the manufacturing of this product, coupled with proper care and maintenance should give your new cultured marble products years of service and remain as elegant and beautiful as the day you purchased them. Thank you for choosing our products. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call. |
